MOYES LUCKY TO BE IN MANCHESTER UNITED

Former Chelsea and Italy international striker Gianluca Vialli says that Manchester United manager David Moyes is lucky to still be the manager of the Red Devils after such a horror start to his career at Old Trafford.
The Scottish manager is on the verge of seeing his team get knocked out of the race for all 4 major honours this season and his team is also likely to miss out on the Champions League just one season after they cantered to the Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson. Vialli believes that Moyes would have been sacked 3 times by now in Italy had he failed to maintain a certain level of football at one of Serie-A’s top clubs.
Vialli was quoted in the Metro as saying, “In Italy, managers are judged simply by results, Italian managers don’t enjoy themselves at all. David Moyes, in Italy, would have been sacked three times now. In the Premier League you get the feeling they give you a bit longer to sort out problems. They are more understanding and, most importantly, owners of football clubs don’t think they know more than managers.”
Vialli though may have taken one of the very few examples in the Premier League to rest his case as there have been quite a number of manager sackings in England in the past couple of years.
One gets the feeling though that David Moyes could be given a longer rope at Manchester United than he would have had at other clubs as the Red Devils face a transition phase following the unparalleled success they enjoyed under the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
